Choorio Village, the last village at Pakistan India Border
Choorio Village is located in taluka Nagarparkar of district Tharparkar, a largest district and desert of Sindh province of Pakistan. It is generally situated at southeast border of Pakistan with India, where there is range of rocky hills of granite stones and on top of it there lies a one of the oldest Hindus temple.
The name Choorio is actually derived from Sindhi language word (Choori - چوڙي) which means ‘a bangle’ (چوڑی in Urdu). Thus Choorio represents an area related to bangles, as people of Choorio village and surrounding villages have been related to profession of manufacturing bangles for women. Those manufactured bangles have been supplied and sold to other nearby towns or cities including Mithi, Umerkot, and others.
